Tom Boy

My sweet little girl Clara is turning out to be not so girly.  It is so entertaining to watch my kids' personalities develop.  It probably doesn't help that Clara has a very boyish older brother that likes to wrestle and fight, but Clara is turning out to be quite a tom boy.  She absolutely hates dresses.  She refuses to have her hair combed.   She won't wear her pretty hair bows and pony tails with head bands. She wants to wrestle and fight.  She simply wants to wear pajamas all day.  I guess I should count my blessings that she does like pink and purple.  She is simply Clara.  She always has an agenda.  It's just her own agenda, and to me it NEVER makes sense.  She just wants to keep up with the big kids.  She wants her own things.  She is miss independent.  She loves to ride bikes and go fast.  She really is quite a thrill seeker.  We found out that she is already quite a gymnast, and can handle monkey bars quite well.  She just seems so show no fear.  She likes to do everything she can completely by herself.  She can be quiet and mischievous.  Most of the time she is up to no good.  She can hold he own against Luke and fights back.  It's hard not to laugh and how she figures her way around things.  She's one smart cookie.  She's just our Clara!

Independance

A phrase I hear a lot lately is "I do it!" These kids are all about their own independence, especially Clara.  Clara refuses to let me do her hair, which obviously makes me very sad.  She runs if she sees me walk towards her with a comb.  She hates her hair being washed.  Most of the time she looks very un-kept.  Today she decided she would do her own hair.  She decided to unload half a bottle of hair spray on her hair too!

Clara has also been into changing her own diaper lately.  She still uses the potty when she feels like it, but now she has escalated to changing her diaper when she wants it changed too.  She will disappear into her room for a while and change her outfit and diaper.  She will emerge exclaiming "I did it" yet again announcing her independence.  She is such a head strong little girl.  I often ask myself- where does she come from.  She just came this way!
