Interesting...

Apparently, things outside are a lot more interesting, than what's going on inside.
Luke likes to look out the windows.
Sometimes he says "oh wow" to whatever he is watching.

I caught him looking outside, so he was embarrassed.
He came to push me away so I would leave him alone.
Apparently he likes to look at things outside all by himself.
I just leave the blinds up for him to look out as he pleases.

Once lost.... Now found

Two weeks ago, we lost this remote.
We stayed home from church because Luke was throwing up.
We spent the day lounging around watching movies and tv.
We started a movie around 2 pm, and it wasn't until around 6 pm
we realized we hadn't seen the remote since before we started the movie.

Luke loves remotes.
Especially because we don't want him to have them.

We knew Luke had probably taken the remote somewhere during the movie, but where?
Our house is small, and mostly empty.
We searched the entire house.
Cleaned everything in the process.
Looked through all his known hiding places which include:

laundry baskets
trash cans
the washing machine
the pan cupboard
the flour bucket

Still after hours of searching, the remote could not be found.
At first, it was funny, we didn't believe Luke was such a good hider!
Then it became annoying we couldn't find it.
Then I thought it was hilarious how mad Gilbert was getting that he didn't have his remote.

Then it came time to put Luke to bed,
and then I went to bed.
Gilbert stayed up looking for the remote.
He was unsuccessful.

So the next day, I went to the cable company and got a new remote.
We were back in tv business, but the mystery still remained.
Where is that remote?

Today, I was rocking with Luke.
I thought something was a little off.
At first, I just figured one of his balls was stuck under the chair.
So Gilbert lifted up the chair, and this is what we saw:

Can you see the remote?

So we opened the chair, and down falls the remote.

Luke was quick to grab the remote and start running.
I guess he noticed we found his hiding spot.
We found a few other things that were missing too.

Time to find a new secret spot, because we're on to you!

Introducing...

Introducing the newest member of the Worle family......

Yes, we've been expecting this addition for quite some time.
Years to be exact.
The time has arrived, that this beautiful new HD TV is part of our faimly.

These are the smiles on Luke's and my face because we get to watch a beautiful tv.

Most of the time we are watching Disney channel,
but hey, it's in HD.
The first time we hooked it up, Luke walked up to it and just started laughing.
I think he thoroughly enjoys watching his cartoons in life size!

Needless to say, we are happy campers now!

Silly Boy

One of my most favorite things about Luke is, he always holds his hands behind his back.
I don't know where he learned this from,
certainly not from his parents,
so it must just be a natural instinct.

This isn't the best picture to display it,
most of the time, he has both hands behind his back.
It always looks like he is up to no good, or hiding something.
Just one of those cute things about him!

Binki Man

It's no secret that Luke is completely addicted to his binki.
He got a nasty cold right after Christmas, and it was the most opportune time
to take the binki away since he couldn't breathe anyway.
We still use the binki for sleeping times, like naps and bed times.
I keep some emergency spare binkis in the car just in case we're having a rough car ride.

The other day, I pulled into a parking lot and was looking for a receipt.
Luke was getting inpatient waiting for me to get him out of his seat.
So I unbuckled him, and let him get himself out, while I finished looking for what I needed.
He of course crawled up in to the front seat with me, where all the buttons are.
All those buttons are rather fun for him to push.

After a minute I looked down and saw that
I had apparently accumulated 3 spare binkis for the car.

Of course, he had found all 3 and was delightfully enjoying them one at a time.
He would try one of for a few seconds, then switch to the next, continuing on.
I thought it was a picture moment to share with all of you.

3 binkis at once, is there anything better?

V-Day Part 2

Luke and I are early risers. You could call us morning people if you wanted to.
I generally wake up around 5 am, without an alarm, and I am just awake.
I love it! Morning is totally the best time of day!
Luke wakes up anywhere between 5 am - 6 am and he is awake also.
He is ready to play!
We came downstairs Valentine's Morning and found this surprise!
Luke didn't know what to think at first.

He quickly realized this was going to be fun, whatever it was.

Many of the hearts were hanging down, well within Luke's grasp,
but he decided to crawl up on the couch and see if he could reach some of the higher ones.
Which he did.
He definitely enjoyed pulling these down.
It took Gilbert hours after we went to bed to hang these all up,
and Luke a matter of minutes to rip them all down!
The effort and thoughtfulness put in by Gilbert, was not unnoticed by me though.
Each heart listed another reason why he loves me, just so I wouldn't forget!

For lunch, Luke and I decided to have a picnic.
We picked up Gilbert and went to the park.
Luke decided it would be more fun to play than to eat, what kid wouldn't?
We spent the hour crawling around in the wood chips and going down the slide together.

For another surprise, Luke and I decided to fill Gilbert's car with balloons.
Really the balloons were more for Luke than for Gilbert, so when Gilbert got home and brought in the balloons, it was nothing but smiles for Luke.

He kept running back and forth dragging the balloons behind him.
This is why balloons were totally worth it!

Valentine's Day this year, was fun!

Happy Early Valentine's Day

We decided to get a baby sitter for the second time!
We went out to dinner at Tepanyaki!
It was my choice, and I had a lot of fun.
I wanted to pick a place that you can't really take a kid,
and I'm glad Luke wasn't there because
I'm pretty sure he would not have appreciated the "fire" show!
It was a nice distraction from our very very busy boy.

After dinner, we went to play some pool.
I started to worry about Luke, so I made us go home a little earlier than planned.
We played 3 games of pool.
Gilbert won all 3 of course,
but I gave him a run for his money,
which he was surprised at.
It came down to the last ball every game.

When we got home, Luke seemed to be in good spirits.
We asked him if he missed us, and he just laughed.
Then I felt guilt after we got home for leaving him.

It wasn't an hour later that he started throwing up for the night!
Then I started feeling even more guilty.
It has been over a year since we last got a baby sitter,
and now, I'm not sure when the next time will be.
I felt so bad, I let Luke sleep with me all night
and I could tell his tummy was hurting him all night!

I'm sure it was just some stomach bug, but of couse it would happen on the very night I decided to get a sitter, and the same night that I actually enjoyed myself during dinner without him!
I can't believe I am admitting that!
Oh well, I think he will forgive me :)

Happy Best Birthday!

Yesterday morning, I woke up at 5 am.
That is not unusual.
I woke up to these on the counter.
It was a nice surprise.

Usually, I am indifferent towards flowers.
First I think they are expensive, and they just die in a few days anyway.
However, they are beautiful, and can brighten up your day.
These are beautiful.

Gilbert took the whole day off for my birthday.
He had events planned for the entire day.
Most of which revolved around an independent 1 year old.

Our first stop was story time at the library.
Luke liked it for about 10 minutes.
The rest of the time he just wants to run free.

(side story)
He likes to run free so much that people in stores remember me.
I like to go to stores right when they open, there is less traffic that way,
and I can let Luke run around and get all his wiggles out.
I frequent the fabric stores, and all the ladies know and remember me by
"my helper"
What they really mean, is "my demolisher"
I can to catch him before he destroys every display
so apparently that is quite memorable.

Our second stop was lunch.
The Macaroni Grill.
It was delicious.
This was us walking into the Macaroni Grill.
Luke was hungry and impatient after story time.

After lunch, our next stop was Trafalga.
We played video games.
My favorite of course was Deal or No Deal.
The first time, I didn't make such a great deal.
The second time, I did make a GREAT deal.
Won lots of tickets, so I could buy Luke a worthless toy with the tickets.

Then we played Mini-Golf:

It was black light mini-golf.
Luke was having fun chasing the glow in the dark balls.
Of course, he would pick up our balls before we were done putting,
so its questionable who actually won.

Luke has the most fun just running around,
and of course there was a water feature in the middle that he just couldn't stay away from.
Luckily we kept him dry the whole time.

Our next stop was the Bean Museum on BYU campus.
We never knew this existed until a few days ago.
Why we ever waster our time taking Luke to Cabellas is now a mystery.

This had a lot more animals and it was way cooler!

Last stop was, my favorite, Cold Stone.
I love ice cream, and especially good ice cream!
By the time we got home, it was a day full of adventure and Luke was tired!

In the end Gilbert deserves some props for the day.
He had everything planned out and they were all activities we could take Luke along.
I'm not such a fan of getting babysitters.
I was a fun day!

Weird Requests

Sometimes, I don't understand this kid at all.
He wants such weird things.
He likes to sit on the counter in front of the microwave, and I guess just look around.
I'm not sure why he enjoys this so much, but it's what he likes to do.
He just sits there and smiles.
Weird?

New Toy

It is no secret, I love to bake and try new recipes.
I tried making creme brulee a while back, but I just didn't have the right tool to finish the job.
I bought myself a new toy.
A kitchen torch!

Gilbert had fun carmelizing these for me!

Comfortable?

Luke moves all the couch cushions around, until they are just how he wants them.
I guess he piled them high, so he could sit at the "top" of the couch today.
Spoiled?

Little Boys

Luke likes to do something that is very annoying.
He first loves to take baths.
That's not the annoying part.
He generally takes at least 1 bath a day.
I know, that is ridiculous!
Often times, it's twice a day, because I can't shower without him.
He gets upset if someone else is in the bath and not him.

The annoying part is after wards.
We have about 3 seconds to take him out of the bath and put a diaper on him.
For some reason he is obsessed with watching himself pee.
For some other crazy reason, why can't he just pee in the bath tub.
As soon as he is naked, and NOT in the tub,
he squats down, and pees on purpose!
I've seen him even try to squeeze more out just to watch him pee some more.
He grunts to try to watch every drop come out.
This is gross, I know that is what you are thinking.
However, Luke thinks its hilarious!
He does it on purpose!!!

There will be no pictures associated with this post, for obvious reasons.
So on top of the crumbs, and spit out apple peel everywhere in my house,
beware of pee stains on the carpet too.

Before we had Luke, I really wanted new carpet.
Now I am grateful I did not get new carpet.
I really don't care that he throws up and pees on the carpet,
because it needs to be replaced anyway.

Boys will be boys, I guess.
