For your viewing pleasure...

One of Luke's most favorite things to do is play in the sink;
with water running of course.
So I let him play in the water.
Naked is the best way because its easier to dry him off after wards!

Another thing he loves to do is brush his teeth,
with our toothbrush of course.
Ours has buttons and makes a noise,
which makes it so much more fun!

Luke has slept in his toddler bed for 4 days now.
First night: HORRIBLE
which was to be expected.

Subsequent nights have been awesome.
I've actually been surprised it hasn't been more difficult
(knock on wood)
He thinks he is a big boy.
He thinks it is his decision to lay down.
It has empowered him,
and going to bed is much easier now.

Well tell him its bed time,
and he just crawls up in his bed,
wraps him self up in his blanket,
and then closes his eyes and goes to bed.

Lets hope moving him to a twin bed soon will be as successful!

Growing Up

It is time for Luke to move up in the world for his sleeping arrangements.
We have gone back and forth for weeks
trying to decide what would be best.

With just weeks to go before our new baby arrives,
we decided to convert Luke's crib to a toddler bed.

Luke was all too excited to help daddy with the tools necessary to make this transition.
He was trying to unscrew the screws too.

For now, Luke seems happy about the change.
I guess time will tell, if this situation is going to work.
Luke is already a horrible sleeper.
We are worried with free reign of his room,
it may make matters worse.
Or the fact that no matter what time we put Luke to bed
5 am seems to be his natural wake up call!

Un-Kept No More

Luke's hair was seriously getting out of control!
I hate little boys who have hair over their ears,
I want my little boy to look clean cut!

You would think if your mom was a hair stylist, it wouldn't be so scary to get your hair cut.
Apparently, Luke wouldn't agree with that.
He wouldn't let me cut his hair for a long time.
It simply wasn't worth cutting my fingers over trying to cut it while he resisted.

Today, he decided to comply.
So he looks like a clean cut boy now.
Finished look pictures to come.

Spoon Independance

We are working on using utensils, correctly.
It's hard for a kid to understand that spoons and forks are for eating and not for playing.
The best way to learn is with something delicious, like chocolate pudding!

It's called instant gratification.
All you have to do is dip the spoon in, and something will stick to it for you to eat.
You don't have to master the scooping motion right away.
Or the proper way to hold a spoon.

Just pure delicious chocolate pudding.

Then, playing in it after wards makes it extra delicious.

For some reason Luke has to rub everything in his hair.
Chocolate pudding shampoo!!!

Modeling

Luke was asked to model for this website www.babysteals.com
They thought he was adorable, which I of course agreed with.
At least I get some cute pictures out of the deal!
If you don't look at the website today, you can find his pictures in their archives.

Trip to Idaho

Luke and I spent 9 days in Idaho.
The time was filled with lots of fun things for Luke.
He was simply spoiled.

Gilbert and Luke spent lots of time on Grandpa's new toy.
At first, Luke didn't want to get on.
The loud engine scared him.

After a few laps around the farm, Luke didn't want to get off.
He was wave to me, and just yell "weeee"
He was having lots of fun.

The there was the "cozy coupe"

Bella really liked the cozy coupe.
So did Luke.
Thankfully uncle Sterling was there to give lots of rides.
Bella never wanted to get out.

Which led to fighting, of course.
Luke would just climb in on top of Luke.
At one point, I saw him pulling Bella out of the car by her hair.
We are definitely going to have to work on manners and sharing.

We spent some time on the green belt.
To feed the ducks.

Luke loved the ducks and kept saying "quack, quack."
Bella kept saying "duck, duck."
They had a lot of fun with the ducks.
Enough that they got duck poop on their shoes, and were screaming when it was time to go.

We spent some time at the mall in their children's play place.
There was a large tree with a slide down it.

Thankfully uncle Sterling was there to give lots of help to give these kids multiple slide rides!

Then we took the kids swimming.
Everything is cold in Idaho, including their swimming pool!
It took a long time to warm up.
They were still shivering when we took them out.

Bella is a great swimmer, Luke was scared more than anything.
It was so loud in the aquatic center.

They still had fun splashing around and throwing the ball back and forth.

It was a great trip!
