snags

Lately life has seemed difficult.  Nothing monumental has happened, just everyday "snags".  But these said snags seem to be adding up.  I have found myself waiting to catch that break.....that break just doesn't seem to be coming.  Everyday a new snags needs attention whether its a sick child, or something broken, something seems to demand attention.  Something seems to slow me down, or simply get in the way for the day.  Usually its just annoying, but it seems to be annoying every darn day!
The kids have been in to playing duck-duck-goose and red-light/green-light lately.  The other night we were playing duck-duck-goose.  Clara doesn't quite fully understand the concept of the game, but enough to say "goose" and start running.  It doesn't matter if someone else is the goose, she gets up and starts running.  There was a moment, just a split second, where we were all laughing and having fun.  I think that split second moment is the only "break" I'm going to catch.  I realized that as long as I am looking for a break, some monumental easy break through to come my way, its never going to come.  I'm simply looking at my snags in the wrong way.

1 down...

I just finished my first class at BYU!
1 down....lots more to go.
I am happy to say I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I also got an A!
I know it was a lot of work, and a lot of extra unnecessary stress.
It also costs a ridiculous amount of money to go to school these days, especially one class at a time!
My kids had to deal with a baby sitter once a week,
and Gilbert had to deal with crazy kids and no mommy one evening a week.
However, I think it was worth it!
I am excited for the next class, but looking forward to summer break.

Clara is the queen of being naked.  She is constantly taking off her clothes.  It doesn't matter where we are, in a private or public place, she is stripping down.  I am constantly finding her stark naked in our home, and trying to get that way out on the play ground.  She certainly won't wear shoes, unless of course she decides she wants to wear shoes.  Lately she has decided she would like to sleep with her shoes on, but that is about the only time she will wear shoes!  What a character she is.
She is also the girl who will scream for anything.  It's really hard to determine if her screams are actually a pain scream or just a- leave me alone scream.  They are all a "10" on the scale.  There is no differentiating with this little girl, everything needs immediate attention.  She has also become quite a little bully around other kids.  I guess dealing with Luke all the time has taught her to fight back.  Other kids are much more mild than her, so they are quite astonished when she is just not "mild"!
Luke has some funny phrases lately.  He has just learned High 5, and he says
Up High
Down Low
Too Slow- as he pulls his hand away laughing!
He answers to some requests saying "of course!"
or it's just funny to hear him say things to Clara that I've said to him like:
"you need to change your attitude and be nice"
Funny how he hears me, but never actually does what I ask,
but thinks its ok to ask Clara to do what he doesn't do.

I wonder...

I have often wondered to myself why I have been blessed with such crazy children...
Is it because I allow this to happen, and I don't really care?

Instead of getting mad that they drew on each others faces,
I just let them walk around for a few days with marker on them.
Then I take some pictures to capture the moment.

 Luke looks totally innocent right?
Every day I ask myself-
when are they going to get along?
It seems like they constantly fight,
and Clara is constantly crying about whatever Luke just did or did not do to her.

Sometimes they are partners in crime.
Sometimes they escape-together to the park.

My kids just seem to be crazy balls of energy.
I don't have enough energy to keep up with them.
Sometimes I want them to just zone out in front of the tv so I can have some quiet time.
They never seem to sit still even for that!
I would like to introduce some Disney movies to my kids,
but they just don't seem to have the attention span.
They are always off to the next mischief!

Happy Easter

Grandma spoiled the kids with cute Easter baskets,
and they were thrilled.
Luke totally believes the Easter bunny brought him some prizes!

They both got play-doh and chocolate, and they were set!

Then it was time to color Easter eggs.
Clara wasn't too happy because she kept getting the dye on her fingers.
She is really not a fan of having a "mess"
She says "uh-oh a mess"
and whines until we clean off whatever she thinks is mess on herself.
She even gets mad if she gets things on her clothes, and must change them!

Luke was loving coloring Easter Eggs.
He kept pulling them out, then putting them back in.
He wanted to color dozens of eggs if we would have let him.

In the end, we had a great Easter holiday!
