We recently had the opportunity to do an impromptu vacation to California. It was very last minute, but much needed after finishing up everything with Clara. We needed a break, and an escape from reality. So we spent 5 days in California. The first day, we spent on the beach.
There is something ultimately relaxing about the beach. Maybe its the sound of the waves crashing, or the smell of salt water. Or simply the fact that everyone else on the beach has no sense of time, and is soaking up the sun and loving it. We enjoyed our time on the beach.
At first the kids were super excited to run and jump in the waves. After a few tides, they quickly realized how powerful the waves are, and even in water only to their knees they were getting swept away. After they both took a tumble, they were much more timid.
Our last day in California, we went back to the beach. This time we walked on the pier and watched fisherman and sea lions. The kids thought this was so cool. Again it was totally serine. We also took a short ocean cruise. This was totally fun. We got to see all the amazing properties along the coast line and some amazing beaches!
