Christmas Morning

 Christmas morning was AWESOME!

I'm positive it was more entertaining for Gilbert and I,

way more exciting to us than the kids. 

We tried to explain Santa Claus,

and explain that he comes with presents.

We even spend Christmas Eve eve looking out the window with binoculars,

hoping to snag a peek of Santa flying his sleigh with reindeer.

 

 When the kids walked into the room,

and saw all the presents that magically appeared that morning,

all Luke could say was

"Wow"

in such a hushed reverent manner!

He was shocked and didn't know what to think or say.

Then he said, much more exuberantly-

"look at all these presents!"

At first Luke just kind-of looked lost.

He walked around surveying everything

before he touched anything.

 The kids were spoiled with a power wheels this year.

Luke was a little intimidated of it at first.

Clara jumped right in ready for a ride!

Clara got a baby doll and a baby doll stroller.

She was in heaven.

She knew exactly what to do,

and kept showing everyone her "baby."

 Luke got more presents than he knew what to do with.

He was in love with his trucks and cars.

He got a remote control Thomas the Train,

and many others that we will open 1 at a time,

and it will be like Christmas all over again.

 After Clara played with her baby and baby stroller for a little while,

she found the stocking candy.

She nearly ate the whole bag,

and was quietly enjoying herself in the corner,

eating candy,

while the rest of us opened gifts.

 Luke took great pride in ripping all the wrapping paper to shreds.

Not only did he open all his presents,

but tried to rip the paper off everyone else's presents.

He was all about the actual event of opening the presents,

which to him,

was almost as good as what the present actually was!

 It was a fabulous Christmas morning.

I adore the magic of Christmas morning,

when you get to live vicariously through your children!

 It was super cold in Idaho this Christmas.

Plus there were several storms,

one right after another that brought LOTS of snow!

The kids wanted to go play in the snow and make snowballs.

So we took them sledding,

and walking speed was fast enough for these 2 chickens!

A sled ride was the highlight of their day!
