Spud Harvest

Over my mom's spud harvest break, she came to visit.
Luke always loves when grandma comes to visit,
because he gets (extra) spoiled.
Then Uncle Sterling came as well,
so the kids got (extra) (extra) spoiled.

We spent some time planting fall mums,
and fixing the front flower beds.
This allowed the kids to play in the dirt and mud,
which they thoroughly enjoyed.

Uncle Sterling put up our fabulous Halloween decorations.
Pics to come later...

 We did lots of shopping,
and the kids went along mostly ok with that.

But then we did something really fun...

We experienced Cornbelly's at Thanksgiving Point for the first time.
It was a great harvest carnival,
perfect for little kids.
We tried the slides,
which Clara loved,
and Luke got a little scared.

We tried the bean bag toss,
and duck races.
We sat in the very large rocking chair
for a perfect picture moment.

Uncle Sterling gave the kids a fabulous ride,
on these- whatever these are called things.
Luke didn't look like he was enjoying,
but Clara was smiling!

Then we tried out the hay ride,
which truthfully was a little boring,
but hey- the kids got to go for a hay ride.

Later, I discovered a trend with Clara,
which I find to be quite hilarious.
How this little girl learned this,
I do not know.
It must just be natural to.....

eat only the frosting of Oreo cookies.
This is how I found her cookie.
Discarded with only the frosting eliminated.
Which she was quite pleased with.
As you can plainly see.
